Best fantasy football RB waiver wire pickups for Week 4

Welcome to the Week 4 waiver wire watch!

We had a wild weekend of action across the NFL and it was special teams that ended up being the deciding factor in several games around the league. Whether you won your fantasy league matchup or got absolutely smoked, you’re probably looking for ways to fortify your rosters ahead of next week. That’s where we come in.

We’ll go over some Week 3 RB performers that you should consider scooping off the waiver wire ahead of Week 4. We’ll classify a waiver add as someone who is rostered in roughly 60% of leagues at maximum. Something to note that this is the last week where all teams will be in action before byes start going into effect, so keep that in mind.

Trey Benson, RB, Arizona Cardinals (54.6%)

Trey Benson got plenty of touches in Arizona’s 16-15 loss to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday, taking 10 carries for 42 yards and catching three targets for nine yards in the contest. But the story of the game was starting running back James Conner having to be carted off after suffering a gruesome ankle injury in the third quarter.

Conner will miss the rest of the 2025 season and that will promptly thrust Benson into the role of Arizona’s starting running back. He was already one of the top handcuff options on the board and was already rostered roughly 54% of fantasy leagues so if you’re interested, you better put your waiver wire bid in this week.

Week 4 matchup: vs. Seattle Seahawks, 8:15 p.m. ET (Thursday night)

Jeremy McNichols, RB, Washington Commanders (1.4%)

Back to that Raiders-Commanders game, Austin Ekeler’s Achilles tear opened the door for Jeremy McNichols to get some more touches out of Washington’s backfield and he certainly delivered. The veteran was explosive and led the team in rushing on Sunday, taking just four carries for 78 yards and a touchdown in the big victory at home.

McNichols will be splitting carries with Jacory Croskey-Merritt and Chris Rodriguez moving forward and these types of running back committees can frustrate fantasy managers. But if he’s as explosive as he was on Sunday, he could emerge as a consistent weapon for the ‘Manders.

Week 4 matchup: @ Atlanta Falcons, 1 p.m. ET

Blake Corum, RB, Los Angeles Rams (16.7%)

Kyren Williams is the undisputed RB1 for the Rams but Corum is beginning to carve out a role for himself in the offense. The second-year running back took eight carries for a career-high 53 yards in the team’s 33-26 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday and that followed up a Week 2 performance where he punched in his first career touchdown.

Corum has just 14 carries through three games but has been extremely efficient on those runs with a 71.43% success rate and a 0.52 EPA per rush. He may be in line for even more carries in the coming weeks and could emerge as a solid handcuff option for Williams.

Week 4 matchup: vs. Indianapolis Colts, 4:05 p.m. ET

Ollie Gordon II, RB, Miami Dolphins (31.6%)

Things are not going great for the 0-3 Dolphins, but they had a few positive developments from their 31-21 loss to the Buffalo Bills last Thursday. Namely, rookie running back Ollie Gordon II got a decent chunk of work on the ground with nine carries for 38 yards and a touchdown that put them on the board in the first quarter.

Gordon is actually the only Dolphins running back aside from starter De’Von Achane to record a carry this season, so the lane is open for him to become a solid handcuff/red-zone option. Keep the rookie on your radars because if things continue to go south for Miami, one could easily see them giving more reps to backups like him down the stretch.

Week 4 matchup: vs. New York Jets, 7:15 p.m. ET (Monday night)

Hassan Haskins, RB, Los Angeles Chargers (1.1%)

L.A. improved to 3-0 with a 23-20 victory on Sunday, but suffered a big loss to the offense with veteran running back Najee Harris suffering a season-ending torn Achilles. With rookie Omarion Hampton serving as the established starter, Haskins will step in as the Chargers backup running back. The fourth-year tailback has been returning kicks for the Chargers so far this season and should be mixed into the offensive gameplan to offer Hampton a breather in certain spots.

Week 4 matchup: @ New York Giants, 1 p.m. ET
