The first two weeks of the 2025-26 NFL season have concluded and some things are starting to clear up around the league. The biggest surprise might be the Chiefs losing their first two games of the season. The Buccaneers are looking like the class of an often shaky NFC South. And while the Bengals are 2-0, they lost Joe Burrow for three months to a toe injury.
We head into Week 3 with some interesting matchups among the 2-0 squads in the league. The Eagles host the Rams and the 49ers host the Cardinals with their respective undefeated records on the line. The Chiefs will hope to get on track as they travel to face the 0-2 Giants, who almost stunned the Cowboys last week. It should be a fun week of football.
We’re back for another week of Survivor picks after a fairly light Week 2. There were a couple of near upsets, but the Giants couldn’t quite pull it off against the Cowboys and the Cardinals held off a tough Panthers squad. It’s time for Week 3 picks, with a look at safe picks, value picks, and potential trap picks. I’m playing in numerous Survivor pools so I can mix up my options. From last week, I was fine on my safe and value picks. I really thought the Jets would give the Bills some trouble, but it wasn’t close. On to the picks!
Safest picks
Bills over Dolphins
Packers over Browns
The Bills are at home in a divisional game and the Dolphins really stink. Anything is possible, but I just don’t see an upset happening. Similarly, the Browns host the Packers, but Cleveland is bad. They gave the Ravens a little trouble but then fell apart. I expect something similar with the Packers looking really good.
Best value picks
Seahawks over Saints
There’s a better than even chance you won’t find a single game the rest of the season to use Seattle. The Saints gave the 49ers some trouble, but they have to travel west and I don’t think they do it two weeks in a rown.
Trap picks
Bucs over Jets
Falcons over Panthers
The Jets will be without Justin Fields, which means it’s Tyrod Taylor time. This Bucs game is either a great value play or bad news. Their best remaining games are divisional games, so it might very well be worth rolling the dice. But you’ve been warned.
As for Falcons-Panthers, I really don’t think I need to provide reasons why Atlanta is a tricky pick this week — and frankly most weeks.
